23 Sep Fall Trend: It’s all about the fabric!

By Alexandra Wolter, Personal Stylist

In an age of active wear, consumers have been spoiled by spandex. But this is not necessarily a bad thing. It has forced designers to reevaluate how to make their clothing more comfortable for every occasion.

Silky knits are now being implemented in everything from business attire to formal wear. This fabric is often wrinkle resistant, neutral in temperature, and stretches as you move. It can easily be dressed down with denim or dressed up with pearls. Once you try the fabrics of high end designers Frank Lyman and Joseph Ribkoff, you’re sure to fall in love. Customers rave that their black dress pants feel as comfortable as pajamas.

Leggings are also experiencing a shift in fabric trend especially moving into colder weather. The knits are thicker and stronger to have a shape-wear effect on your figure. While these leggings do take a little extra effort to put on, you’re sure to feel your best in them. The celebrity favorite brand is called Yummie and is available in a variety of sizes so you can find your perfect fit.

The ultimate trend this fall is suede! Designers who have never worked with suede are suddenly introducing multiple styles in the fabric. While authentic suede is more luxurious, ultra suede has the benefits of being less expensive, simpler to clean, and often softer to the touch.
